The recent Bemidji Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised more than $18,000.

According to a release, 105 participants in 17 teams raised the funds that will provide local people with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and their caregivers, with free care and support services.

More than six million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, with 11 million family members and friends providing care for dementia patients. In Minnesota, alone, there are more than 99,000 people living with the disease and 170,000 caregivers.
