COVID-19 updates for Tuesday, Nov. 16

Public Health Director Megan Heuer reported there were 350 active cases of COVID-19 in Beltrami County as of Monday afternoon.

Heuer also notes there were 19 COVID-19 patients in local hospital beds, with 13 of those being county residents.

MDH reported more than 5,200 new cases Monday, with 54 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County.

MDH also reported 15 new cases in Cass County, seven new cases in Clearwater County and eight new cases in Hubbard County.

Minnesota leads the nation in having the most new COVID cases in the last seven days, according to the CDC.

MDH’s Kris Ehresmann says “we are in the middle of a COVID blizzard right now,” with more than 1,300 hospitalized for COVID as of Friday, with 300 needing intensive care.

MDH reported nearly 11,000 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday.

Monday reports from MDH generally include Friday cases, while Tuesday reports include testing information gathered over the weekend.

Of the 10,913 new cases reported Tuesday, 126 were in Beltrami County, 65 were in Cass County, 14 were in Clearwater County and 39 were in Hubbard County.

Fifty-one new COVID deaths were also reported across the state Tuesday.

Four were in Beltrami County, a resident in their early 40s, a resident in their early 50s, a resident in their late 50s, and a resident in their early 90s.
