Bemidji Schools Superintendent Tim Lutz announced his retirement during the school board meeting last night.
Lutz was selected to lead Bemidji Schools upon the retirement of Dr. James Hess in the spring of 2018, coming to this district from the Kelliher.
Lutz recognized the difficulties of navigating the district through COVID and thanked his colleagues.
Lutz has served in school administration for 18 years and his retirement will be effective at the end of June.
Lutz, in 2018, was selected out of three final candidates after a lengthy special school board meeting that April.
