Westhoff officially named BSU associate provost and associate VP of academic affairs

Dr. Randy Westhoff was named associate provost and associate vice president for academic affairs at Bemidji State.

Westhoff has been in this post as an interim since 2015.

Dr. Allen Bedford, provost and vice president for academic affairs, said Westhoff’s skills and experience at Bemidji State make him a highly valued member of our academic leadership team.

“The remarkably wide array of functions the associate provost supports and the depth of knowledge needed to do that work well places high demands on the person holding the office,” Bedford said.

“Dr. Westhoff meets those challenges with impressive doses of good insight, reliability, good humor and calm. I am delighted that he has accepted the position and I look forward to his continuing contributions to the healthy operations of the academic affairs division.”

Westhoff already served in post as an interim for four years, from 2015 to 2019, before returning to his faculty possession in the university’s mathematics department for a year. He returned to the interim post in 2020.

“I am honored to accept this position and am looking forward to working with faculty and staff across campus to advance our mission to serve our students and region,” Westhoff said.

“BSU is a special place filled with talented and energetic people. I’m happy to join our leadership team on a more permanent basis and help lead the campus in uplifting our students and helping them excel in all aspects of their lives.”
