ASM Global officially announced Sheila Murphy as the new general manager of the Sanford Center.
Murphy is originally from Kansas City, Mo., and began her role last Monday.
“We are very fortunate that we are able to add someone of Sheila’s caliber to our team in Bemidji,” said Leonard Bonacci, Regional Vice President of Stadium and Arenas for ASM Global.
“She has terrific energy and possesses a strong skill set as a leader along with the knowledge and expertise needed to deliver on our commitment to create amazing experiences for our guests attending events at The Sanford Center. “
Murphy met with some members of the Bemidji City Council last week.
Murphy, according to the release, has experience in expanding events at venues across the country, especially in historic theaters.
Murphy is a US Navy veteran and has spent time in the entertainment industry in Ocean Springs, Miss., and Evansville, Ind.
“I am excited to become a member of the ASM Global family and look forward to leading the team that is in place at the Sanford Center,” said Murphy.
“I am thrilled to begin the next chapter of my career delivering quality, live entertainment to the City of Bemidji.”
