Red Lake man pleads guilty to assault

A Red Lake man has entered a guilty plea in the federal courts for assaulting three people with a gun.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 21-year-old Dillon Taylor entered the plea on Tuesday in the District Court in Minneapolis for the crime that took place in November of last year.

According to Taylor’s plea, during a confrontation with two people, he pointed a gun and threatened the life of one person, and when the two left the scene driven by a third person, Taylor pursued them and shot at the vehicle multiple times.

When the car pulled into the parking lot of the casino on the Red Lake reservation, Taylor continued his pursuit, firing a shot towards the entrance of the casino, where the three people and casino personnel were standing.

Taylor’s sentencing is scheduled for February.
