The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Friday, April 22, through Sunday, April 24.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, APRIL 24

Property Damage, 10:53 p.m.

Property damage/attempted burglary reported on the 400 block of Wood Ave. SE.

Welfare Check, 9:08 p.m.

Caller advised his two sisters are on probation and out at the bar downtown. Officer confirmed both subjects were clear of probation.

Suspicious, 7:47 p.m.

Officer took report of a suitcase on the lakeshore. Officer observed a suitcase and blankets on the 300 block of Bemidji Ave. N, otherwise no suspicious activity.

Theft, 6:56 p.m.

Officers responded to a theft on the 400 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Adult male arrested for a warrant. Victim did not wish to pursue the theft.

Traffic Stop, 12:02 a.m.

Traffic stop on Paul Bunyan Dr. and Roosevelt Rd. SE. Two passengers arrested on warrants.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23

Found, 4:13 p.m.

Rusty, old BB gun found in the woods near the 200 block of Walborg Ave. NE. No stolen matches, collected for disposal.

FRIDAY, APRIL 22

Theft, 5:41 p.m.

Officer responded to the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW for a fleeing shoplifter. Male arrested for a warrant and citation will be mailed once store video and report is provided.

Traffic Stop, 4:22 a.m.

Traffic stop on Irvine Ave. and 25th St. NW. One arrested, charges referred for one.

Warrant, 2:16 a.m.

Male individual arrested for a local warrant on the 2800 block of Beltrami Ave. NW.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SUNDAY, APRIL 24

Traffic Stop, 7:55 p.m.

Traffic stop for suspicious activity on Portage Ln. and Island View Dr. NE. Discovered to be a mom trying to locate an address without using her phone.

Assist, 6:42 p.m.

State patrol arrest on Paul Bunyan Dr. and Highway 2 SE.

Suspicious, 2:14 p.m.

Report of an unattended horse and buggy on Nelson Dam Rd. NW in Pinewood. Turned out to be some folks canoeing down the river.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23

Assault, 4:28 p.m.

Deputies investigated the report of a possible domestic assault on Silver Lake Rd. NW. Probable cause to arrest a known adult male suspect was established. Suspect left prior to law enforcement arrival.

Fire, 2:42 p.m.

Deputy responded to a vehicle fire on the 21500 block of Ten Lake Trl. E in Cass Lake. Vehicle completely destroyed by fire. Vehicle was stolen out of the City of Bemidji.

Warrant, 12:47 p.m.

Adult male arrested on a warrant on Swenson Rd. SE.

Hazards (dangerous), 6:57 a.m.

Reports of overland flooding to the Sheriff’s Office.

Hazards (dangerous), 6:21 a.m.

Deputy responded to a residence flooding on the 11600 block of Werner Rd. NW. Lowland issues.

FRIDAY, APRIL 22

Warrant, 1:53 a.m.

Local warrant arrest transferred from Cass County on the 29300 block of US Highway 2.
