Akeley man killed in motorcycle crash near Nisswa

An Akeley man was killed in a motorcycle crash near Nisswa Saturday evening.

The state patrol says 26-year-old Alex Nelson struck a boat on a trailer towed by a Jeep on Highway 371. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sixty-two-year-old George Lentsch of St. Paul was attempting to cross Highway 371 when he pulled out into the path of Nelson’s Harley Davidson.

Lentsch was not injured. Nelson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, around 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Nisswa Police Department and Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
