DULUTH- The homeless man accused of starting the fire that destroyed the Adas Israel Synagogue in Duluth is pleading guilty.

Thirty-six-year-old Matthew Amiot admitted to igniting combustible materials outside the synagogue on September 9th. The 118-year-old building was a total loss and the value of religious artifacts lost in the fire is more than a quarter-million dollars.

Amiot entered his guilty pleas to felony and gross misdemeanor charges Tuesday without any deal with prosecutors. He could face up to four years in prison. Investigators said there was no evidence of a hate crime.
