AUDIO: House Majority Leader says state needs to ramp up funding for schools

As the Bemidji Area School board looks to make hefty cuts to their budget, House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler says the state needs to do more.

Superintendent Tim Lutz mentioned in his presentation that the two percent per-pupil funding formula increases granted to schools each biennium hardly keeps up with inflation, which Winkler says needs to be changed.

Winkler is a Bemidji High School graduate of 2004, and now represents Golden Valley.
