AUDIO: Senator Tina Smith re-introduces Mental Health Services for Students Act

U.S. Senator Tina Smith recently re-introduced some bipartisan legislation that focuses on the mental health needs of children.

According to the bill language, the measures would focus on partnerships with local mental health providers and schools.

One in five children is dealing with a severe mental health issue, yet only ten percent of those are receiving access to mental health care.

The Mental Health Services for Students Act would also provide funding for districts as well as additional training.
