Authorities refresh call for assistance in locating missing Bemidji teen

A year and a half after her disappearance, authorities in Bemidji are still seeking answers to the disappearance of then-15-year-old Neveah Kingbird.

Neveah was last seen in 2021, and reported as a runaway on Oct. 22., 2021. She was believed to be in the area with friends.

Bemidji Police Department Captain David LaZella says the investigation efforts increased that December after it appeared that no one close to Neveah had any contact with her since October. Her last known location was confirmed to the area of Washington Avenue and Pine Grove Street southwest.

Residents in the Nymore area are encouraged to check all their outbuildings, items with covers and any other areas on their properties where someone may seek shelter.

Neveah was last seen wearing either a black zip-up hoodie or a red pullover hoodie with a headdress Bull logo, blue skinny jeans, a white t-shirt or tank top and black and red Nike sandals.

Anyone with information on Neveah’s whereabouts should report it immediately at 218-333-9111, or by anonymously submitting a tip to CrimeStoppers of MN to possibly qualify for a $1,000 reward.
