Beltrami County Board approves two items during meeting

The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners approved two items during their regular meeting yesterday.

The board approved a memorandum of agreement for the Thief River Watershed, of which they only have a small role because the Thief River Watershed only includes a small portion of the county.

Beltrami County holds no financial responsibility to the Thief River Watershed. They are one of the fiscal agents for the Red Lake Watershed.

The Board also approved a mortgage agreement with the Bemidji Airport Authority, which isn’t a new debt, but is more like a grant from the U.S. Department of Economic Development.

The new dollars from this arrangement would build more commercial space and hangars available for lease at the airport.

While refugee resettlement wasn’t on the agenda, a few people still spoke on the issue during the citizens with comments portion of the meeting.
