The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to on Thursday, Jan. 2.
BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Animal, 9:49 p.m.
An officer responded to a call of a dog bite on the 700 block of 18th St. NW. The male who reported the bite was not located.
Theft, 8:41 p.m.
An individual was placed under arrest for a probation violation on the 1400 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.
Theft, 8:23 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of a fleeing shoplifter on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Individual was located and arrested.
Suspicious, 7:42 p.m.
Female requesting extra patrol on the 800 block of 3rd St. SE. Believes neighbor is selling narcotics, unknown if anyone is still living there.
Assault, 6:13 p.m.
Physical altercation between two inmates at the Beltrami County Jail. Two were cited for disorderly conduct.
Disorderly Conduct, 4:30 p.m.
Individual was placed under arrest for various charges on the 100 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. SE.
Warrant, 4:27 p.m.
One arrested on a warrant on Scott Ave. and Roosevelt Rd. SE.
Security Check, 2:13 p.m.
Someone reportedly tried to kick in the door of a detached shed on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Extra patrol requested.
Assist, 8:57 a.m.
Assist DOC probation with escorting a subject to the jail for an apprehension and detain order. Arrested without incident.
Theft, 8:34 a.m.
Theft of a computer tablet reported on the 600 block of America Ave. NW.
Theft, 1:19 a.m.
Female reporting theft of an EBT card on the 1000 block of Jeannette Ave. NW.
Medical, 12:53 a.m.
Officers responded to an apparent attempted suicide at the Beltrami County Jail.

Weapons Offenses, 9:17 p.m.
Report of gunshots was investigated by the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department on the 4700 block of Kappes Ln. SE in Cass Lake. Determined to be fireworks. Call was cleared prior to deputies’ arrival.
Warrant, 4:27 p.m.
Deputy observed an adult male with a felony warrant walking on the roadside near Scott Ave. and Roosevelt Rd. SE. Male arrested for warrant.
Animal, 3:30 p.m.
Deputy responded to a complaint of a dog being shot by the neighbor on the 3900 block of Alder St. NE. Pending.
Animal, 12:52 p.m.
Dog bite reported on the 6600 block of Turtle Mart Ln. NE in Turtle River. The bite resulted in minor injury, and the dog was quarantined. There may a potential for a dangerous dog declaration.
Fire, 12:11 a.m.
Report of a residential house fire on the 1200 block of Little Norway Ave. SE. One was arrested.
