Bemidji City Council to consider resolutions authorizing display of tribal flags in City Hall lobby

The Bemidji City Council will consider three resolutions authorizing the display of tribal flags at City Hall.

Last month, the council held two work sessions to discuss the issue, and, according to the resolution presented in the city packet, will finally vote on displaying the Red Lake, Leech Lake, and White Earth flags in the lobby.

The council will also consider approving a feasibility study for the 2023 street renewal project, which will affect 11th Street from Mississippi to Jeanette, and Mississippi Avenue from 5th to 12th Street.

The recommended improvements include adding curb and gutter on 11th Street, as well as replacing some water and sewer mains, and adding sidewalks.

The new sidewalks would be on both sides of Mississippi Avenue, and on 11th Street between Park and Mississippi.
