Bemidji City Council to discuss Neilson Reise Arena future Monday

The Bemidji City Council has four items of new business on their agenda Monday night.

In a hopeful sign of warmer days to come, Mississippi Music, a weekly Wednesday night concert at the Bemidji waterfront, is set to return this summer.

Organizers are requesting a reduction in fees and an issuance of temporary liquor licenses, which have traditionally been granted.

The council will also review the latest Street Renewal Program for the next five years and consider a solar panel project on the Tourist Information Center.

The council will also hear from Parks and Recreation on possible future uses of the Neilson Reise Arena.

The ice rink has been closed for more than two years, and the city has since established a partnership with the Bemidji Community Arena.

The council will also hold the final reading of establishing the new ward boundaries.
