Bemidji City Council to hear first Police Advisory Board annual report, consider lease amendment for BSU’s Outdoor Program Center

The Bemidji City Council will meet tonight after the Monday holiday.

The Bemidji Community and Police Advisory Board is set to give its first annual report.

Bemidji Parks and Rec is presenting an amendment for BSU’s lease at the Outdoor Program Center.

Bemidji State is looking for “short-term solutions” for the continued lease at almost $23,000 a year.

The amendment, if approved, would extend the lease until the end of September with no rent or costs to the city for services by BSU.

The council will also consider a quote to repair the First Street Water Tower.

City Engineer Sam Anderson says ice buildup in the water tower tank led to last February’s collapse, and it has been offline since.

The city’s insurance will cover the $195,000 costs for repair and engineer consultation.
