Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 3/9-3/12

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, March 9, through Sunday, March 12.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, MARCH 12

Assist, 10:50 p.m.

Blanket provided to person in need.

Medical, 8:16 p.m.

Unresponsive adult male on Bemidji Ave. N. Officers performed CPR until patient was transported by EMS.

Assist, 6:13 p.m.

Caller requesting assistance from officer to ask her neighbor to move their van so she could get her driveway plowed on the 800 block of 14th St. NW. No contact.

Welfare Check, 4:56 p.m.

Caller requested welfare check on ex-girlfriend making suicidal comments. Subject was with friends/family. Stated she was not going to harm herself, declined assistance.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 3:15 p.m.

Report of vehicle driving through slush and splashing other cars on the 1500 block of Bemdji Ave. N. Due to recent snowfall, all roads were covered in snow and slush.

SATURDAY, MARCH 11

Fire, 7:55 p.m.

Kitchen fire on the 400 block of Grant Ave. SE. Handled by Bemidji Fire.

Assault, 3:29 p.m.

Officers responded to a domestic assault on Beltrami Ave. NW. Male party was arrested.

Suspicious, 6:19 a.m.

Officers responded to a local residence for a subject not known to them knocking on their door on the 2600 block of Irvine Ave. NW. Subject determined to be in mental distress and extremely cold. Subject transported to hospital by EMS.

FRIDAY, MARCH 10

Other, 9:19 p.m.

Officers located and arrested a male on the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Trespass, 9:01 p.m.

Trespass on the 2400 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW. Subject later cited and arrested.

Disorderly Conduct, 8:20 p.m.

Eggs thrown at vehicle on the 300 block of Irvine Ave. NW. No damage.

Disorderly Conduct, 7:57 p.m.

Eggs thrown at a business on the 300 block of Park Ave. NW.

Property Damage, 7:46 p.m.

Eggs thrown at a residence on the 700 block of 10th St. NW.

Sex Crimes, 3:49 p.m.

An adult male was arrested on the 3900 block of Irvine Ave. NW for creating pornographic works involving minors.

Suspicious, 8:48 a.m.

Officers responded to a person carrying large stick near downtown. Officers identified subject and determined that no criminal activity had occurred.

Warrant, 4:18 a.m.

Adult male arrested for several outstanding warrants on the 700 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

THURSDAY, MARCH 9

Theft, 10:38 p.m.

Male subject called in regarding being a suspect of a possible bike theft on the 600 block of 3rd St. NW. Female reporting-party found her bike and male subject’s name was cleared.

Disorderly Conduct, 7:05 p.m.

Complaint of subject’s shooting “gel blasters” at complainant’s vehicle on the 1200 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Theft, 4:54 p.m.

Theft of firearm from a vehicle on the 2800 block of Calihan Ave. NE.

Theft, 4:54 p.m.

Possible theft of a cell phone on the 1400 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Male RP was advised to contact law enforcement when he was sober and able to form sentences.

Assault, 3:02 p.m.

Domestic assault arrest on Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Civil, 12:17 a.m.

Civil matter between boyfriend and girlfriend on Wood Ave. SE. Male reported that she took some of his coins and was hoping we could find her as she drove to Cannon Falls.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SUNDAY, MARCH 12

Assist, 10:34 a.m.

Adult female stating she’s snowed in at her residence on the 5600 block of Alps Ct. NW. Deferred to normal means of snow removal. Denied medical or other law enforcement assistance.

DWI, 12:48 a.m.

Adult arrested for DWI on the 4400 block of Washington Ave. S.

SATURDAY, MARCH 11

ATV, 7:05 p.m.

Deputy responded to a vehicle complaint on the 2000 block of Adams Ave. NW. Subject arrested for a warrant.

Dead Body, 10:36 a.m.

Deputies responded to the report of a deceased male in Bemidji. Investigation pending, autopsy ordered.

FRIDAY, MARCH 10

DWI, 8:38 p.m.

Adult arrested for DWI on Roosevelt Rd. and New Strand Rd. SE in Cass Lake. Passenger arrested for warrant.

Burglary, 5:26 p.m.

Deputy located a possible burglary/property damage on Cass Bluff Loop Rd. SE.

Burglary, 12:35 p.m.

Deputy took report of a burglary on Cass Bluff Loop Rd. SE.

Medical, 2:27 a.m.

17-year-old male experiencing euphoric hallucinations from mushroom ingestion in Bemidji. Transported to hospital by EMS.

THURSDAY, MARCH 9

Accident, 10:33 a.m.

Damage to push bumper on squad care on Parkers Lake Rd. and Power Dam Rd. NE

Assault, 12:27 a.m.

Report of domestic assault on Alps Ct. NW. Male party arrested. Citation issued per the County Attorney’s Office.
