Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 4/29-5/2

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Friday, April 29, through Monday, May 2.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

MONDAY, MAY 2

Warrant, 9:16 p.m.

Courtesy ride request. Female arrested for warrant on Park Ave. NW.

Suspicious, 8:39 p.m.

Caller reported suspicious male on bike outside of a business after hours on the 400 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE. Subject was fixing his bike in parking lot. No assistance needed.

Drugs, 8:11 p.m.

Adult male arrested on a felony warrant and new drug charges on Paul Bunyan Dr. S.

Drugs, 7:49 p.m.

Officer responded to a report of found drugs on the 1100 block of Irvine Ave. NW. Hypodermic needle located.

Burglary, 7:30 p.m.

Officer responded to a burglary on the 2500 block of Park Ave. NW.

911, 7:27 p.m.

Caller reported adult son not returning home because he was upset. Caller did not want a welfare check on son.

Warrant, 5:37 p.m.

One arrested on 8th St. NW.

Ordinance Violations, 4:51 p.m.

Officer took report of a homeless encampment in the woods near 8th St. and Maurice Ave. NW. Officer did not observe anyone in the area and no actions were taken.

Burglary, 12:52 p.m.

Burglary of a building on the 300 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. SE with theft of items.

Assist, 12:03 p.m.

Miscommunication between husband and wife, female was located at Hobby Lobby, where husband had dropped her off.

Traffic Stop, 12:03 a.m.

Traffic stop on Hannah Ave. and 30th St. NW. Driver arrested.

SUNDAY, MAY 1

Civil, 10:57 p.m.

Civil issue. Female individual reported her tires were popped hitting a pothole on private property.

Welfare Check, 10:32 p.m.

Officers conducted a welfare check on a hotel room with a guest who was not answering the door on Lake Shore Dr. NE. The room was found to be empty by staff.

Animal, 10:09 p.m.

Officer responded to the report of a bear that was attempting to gain entry into a house on the 200 block of Pine Grove St. SW. The bear was gone prior to officers’ arrival.

Assault, 8:15 p.m.

Adult male placed under arrest for numerous violations on Minnesota Ave. NW.

Suspicious, 8:11 p.m.

Report of a male looking into windows on the 1700 block of America Ave. NW. Male was located looking into his residence.

Medical, 11:59 a.m.

Medical on the 100 block of Minnesota Ave. NW. Overdose handled by Bemidji Ambulance.

Medical, 3:23 a.m.

Officer assisted EMS with intoxicated male who couldn’t stand on his own.

DWI, 2:17 a.m.

Traffic stop on Highway 2 and Division ST. W. Driver arrested.

DWI, 12:53 a.m.

Traffic stop on Paul Bunyan Dr. and Middle School Dr. NW. One arrested for DWI.

Welfare Check, 12:10 a.m.

Report of a female screaming at Spruce St. and Ridgeway Ave. NW. Female advised officers she was crying and did not need assistance.

SATURDAY, APRIL 30

Violations/Court Orders, 11:51 p.m.

Officers responded to the report of a domestic assault in progress on East Ave. NE. Adult male placed under arrest.

Property Damage, 10:33 p.m.

Officer responded to the report of property damage on the 1800 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Adult male placed under arrest.

DWI, 9:42 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 9300 block of Irvine Ave. NW. Driver arrested for DWI.

Suspicious, 5:16 a.m.

Adult males walking through cemetery after posted hours on the 900 block of 30th St. NW.

Alarm, 4:49 a.m.

Officers responded to the report of an alarm tripped by a skunk on the 900 block of Anne St. NW.

Traffic Stop, 3:27 a.m.

Traffic stop on 30th St. and Ridgeway Ave. NW. One arrested.

DWI, 2:25 a.m.

Officer located a vehicle in the ditch on the 800 block of 26th St. NW. Driver arrested.

Warrant, 12:27 a.m.

Female arrested on a warrant on Beltrami Ave. and 5th St. NW.

FRIDAY, APRIL 29

Traffic Stop, 9:06 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Driver arrested.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 6:40 p.m.

Officer spoke with a male requesting extra patrol in the afternoon time due to vehicles racing in the area of Ranch Cir. and Rako St. SW. White truck and white sedan.

Traffic Stop, 12:12 a.m.

Traffic stop on 10th St. and Dewey Ave. NE. Driver arrested.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

MONDAY, MAY 2

Assault, 4:00 p.m.

One male arrested for domestic assault, damage to property and a warrant on Nordic Ave. NW.

Assist, 1:31 p.m.

Stolen ice castle recovered on Dewey Ave. and Deep Woods Ct. SW in Wilton. Placed in county impound lot.

Disorderly Conduct, 12:51 p.m.

Arrest for domestic assault on Scenic Highway NE in Blackduck.

Traffic Stop, 1:47 a.m.

Traffic stop for vehicle backing up in roadway and appearing lost on Balsam Rd. NW. It was a nurse going to a patient’s house. No action taken.

SUNDAY, MAY 1

Burglary, 10:56 a.m.

Burglary of a cabin on the 209600 block of Lookout Tower Rd. NE in Blackduck. Unknown suspect.

Disorderly Conduct, 7:39 a.m.

Child called 911 over video game restrictions set by a parent in Bemidji.

Burglary, 7:35 a.m.

Burglary of a garage on the 6100 block of Wild Rose Ln. NW. Unknown suspect.

SATURDAY, APRIL 30

Burglary, 9:04 p.m.

Deputy took a report of a possible burglary on the 2700 block of Royal Estates Rd. NE.

DWI, 5:44 p.m.

One male arrested for third-degree DWI on Jefferson Ave. and Canopy Ln. SW.

Suspicious, 2:36 a.m.

Male party was resting while he was watching his cattle on Sunnyside Rd and Mill St. E. It is calving season.

DWI, 2:22 a.m.

One male and one female arrested for third-degree DWI and other charges on Porcupine Rd. and Mission Rd. SE in Cass Lake.

FRIDAY, APRIL 29

Suspicious, 11:14 p.m.

Person attempting to get into occupied dwelling on the 28600 block of Connection Dr. SE in Pennington. Found to be daughter’s boyfriend.

Assist, 10:39 p.m.

Dispatch assisted Red Lake with entering stolen firearms.

Warrant, 8:39 p.m.

Three females arrested on their warrants on the 3800 block of Cornflower Ct. SE.

Warrant, 5:52 p.m.

Warrant attempt on the 9900 block of Irvine Ave. NW. One male arrested.

Warrant, 12:08 p.m.

One arrested in Park Rapids.

DWI, 5:11 a.m.

Male arrested for first-degree DWI and DAC-IPS on the 8000 block of Irvine Ave. NW.

Animal, 2:12 a.m.

Deputy corralled a donkey on the 10900 block of Wheat Rd. NE in Blackduck.

Pursuit, 1:29 a.m.

Attempt to stop a vehicle after failing to stop at a stop sign on Irvine Ave. and Lakewood Dr. NW. Vehicle fled and was located unoccupied. Investigation is pending.
