Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 5/26-5/29

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Friday, May 26, through Monday, May 29.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

MONDAY, MAY 29

DWI, 11:28 p.m.

Traffic stop on Paul Bunyan Dr. and Roosevelt Rd. SE. One arrested, one cited.

Welfare Check, 6:59 p.m.

Welfare check for screaming coming from an apartment on Delton Ave. NW. Officers spoke to a female resident who stated her sons were having a wrestling match over a tablet. No parties were injured and no criminal activity was observed.

Family Matter- Non Criminal, 6:49 p.m.

Caller with questions about how to deal with unruly teenage child on Bemidji Ave. N.

Suspicious, 6:31 p.m.

Caller believes her and son’s cell phones were “hacked” on 20th St. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 6:18 p.m.

Office spoke to an agitated elderly male about his personal beliefs on other individuals wearing surgical masks on Washington Ave. S.

Fire, 3:41 p.m.

Officers assisted Bemidji Fire with a fire at a business in the Industrial Park.

Suspicious, 2:51 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle of a family member with a shotgun in it on 20th St. NW. Officers conducted a traffic stop on vehicle. No firearm located.

Suspicious, 12:50 p.m.

Officers responded to mobile home park on the 2900 block of Delton Ave. NW for a suspicious person. Officers located a subject with a felony warrant. Subject arrested.

Suspicious, 2:52 a.m.

Officer checked the area of the 3900 block of Irvine Ave. NW due to the motion light on a house turning on. Nothing out of the ordinary was located.

Welfare Check, 12:05 a.m.

Officers responded to a welfare check request on the 2400 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW. Adult female placed under arrest for numerous violations.

SUNDAY, MAY 28

Weapons Offenses, 9:15 p.m.

Rabbit poaching and pellet gun complaint on Circle Pines Dr. NW.

Fire, 5:28 p.m.

Bemidji Police Officers assisted the Bemidji Fire Department with a tree fire on Carter Cir. SE.

Suspicious, 1:33 p.m.

Report of a suspicious male on 17th St. and Park Ave. NW. Male arrested for multiple warrants.

Found, 10:14 a.m.

Slide from an airsoft bb gun found in rental car upon return to Moberg Dr. NW.

DWI, 4:08 a.m.

Traffic stop on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. Adult female arrested for DWI.

Suspicious, 2:42 a.m.

Officers responded to the report of several suspicious individuals on the 1400 block of America Ave. NW. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a graduation party.

DWI, 1:48 a.m.

Adult male arrested for DWI on the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. Released to sober party.

Disturbing the Peace, 1:38 a.m.

Officers responded to the complaint of kids playing basketball on the 1100 block of Mississippi Ave. NW. The kids decided to play elsewhere to appease the complainant.

SATURDAY, MAY 27

DWI, 11:25 p.m.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Paul Bunyan Dr. and 23rd St. SE. Adult male placed under arrest for DWI.

DWI, 6:02 p.m.

Traffic stop on 11th St. and Mississippi Ave. NW. One arrested.

Theft, 4:59 p.m.

Theft of chain saw and shooting target on America Ave. NW.

Traffic Stop, 1:51 a.m.

Traffic stop on Minnesota Ave. NW. Adult female placed under arrest.

Welfare Check, 12:22 a.m.

Officers responded to a welfare check request on Irvine Ave. and 11th St. NW. Adult male placed under arrest for outstanding warrant.

FRIDAY, MAY 26

Medical, 11:23 p.m.

Controlled substance overdose on 18th St. NW. Male patient denied medical attention.

Violations/Court Orders, 11:22 p.m.

Female arrested for court order violation on 3rd St. and Beltrami Ave. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 10:30 p.m.

Female arrested on her warrants on the 600 block of Washington Ave. S.

Traffic Stop, 10:28 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 400 block of Bemidji Ave. N. One arrested.

Civil, 4:22 p.m.

Officer spoke with a male reporting a branch which he believed to be hanging too far out over a sidewalk on 26th St. and Bemidji Ave. N. The male was advised of his options.

Weapons Offenses, 3:04 p.m.

Spoke to a family about city ordinance regarding the use of pellet and bb guns in the city limits on 3rd St. SE. Cleared.

Assist, 2:33 p.m.

Subject requesting a courtesy ride to a local shelter. She was provided a ride, then changed her mind, and was provided a ride back.

Disorderly Conduct, 12:09 a.m.

Male arrested on warrant during remove one request on the 100 block of 3rd St. NW.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

MONDAY, MAY 29

Theft, 7:53 p.m.

Male cited for stealing wood on the 7100 block of Pete Ln. NW in Wilton.

Accident, 4:55 p.m.

Report of a dog struck on the roadway near Wolf Lake Dr. and Roosevelt Rd. SE.

Suspicious, 7:35 a.m.

Suspicious male subject messing with church perimeter gate on the 700 block of Beltrami Ave. NW. Told to move along.

SUNDAY, MAY 28

Suspicious, 10:18 p.m.

Deputies advised of suspicious people on the 5000 block of Theater Ln. NW. One arrested.

Animal, 7:34 p.m.

Dogs observed chasing cows on the 9700 block of Grange Rd. NW.

Fire, 4:13 p.m.

Bemidji Fire and DNR on the scene near the 4900 block of Whitetail Rd. NE.

SATURDAY, MAY 27

Accident, 11:25 p.m.

One arrested on Paul Bunyan Dr. and 23rd St. SE.

Assault, 11:05 p.m.

Deputies advised of a possible assault on Deervine Trl. NE in Puposky. One arrested.

Assault, 6:32 p.m.

A female was arrested for domestic assault on Wolf Lake Dr. SE.

Littering, 1:24 p.m.

Garbage dumped on ATV trail on the 2200 block of Scenic Highway NE in Cass Lake.

Fire, 7:19 a.m.

Reported on the 20800 block of Hines Rd. NE.

Assist, 1:24 a.m.

Red Lake Police Department requested to look for two parties related to overdose death.

FRIDAY, MAY 26

Warrant, 9:24 p.m.

Female arrested on felony warrant on the 700 block of Woodland Ave. SW.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 4:43 p.m.

Vehicle of interest in possible theft located on Red Lake reservation. No Sheriff’s Office involvement.

Assist, 4:24 p.m.

Female arrested for probation violation on the 4800 block of Stacy Ann Dr. NW.

Theft, 2:09 p.m.

Deputy took a report of possible identity theft occurring in Lebanon.

Theft, 1:11 p.m.

Deputy took a theft report involving two 12-volt batteries from a construction site on the 1000 block of Emma Lou Ln. NW.

Animal, 10:28 a.m.

Deputy checked on a report of a rabid coyote in the roadway on the 3100 block of Becida Rd. SW. Coyote was gone on arrival and unable to be located.

Property, 9:22 a.m.

Two firearms missing or stolen on the 7200 block of Long Ln. NE.

Fire, 8:31 a.m.

Assisted fire with a propane tank issue on Rodeo Dr. NW. Found to be pollen in the air.

Harassment, 1:27 a.m.

Argument with a friend leading to harassment on the 4000 block of Punky Rd. NE.
