Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 6/22-6/26

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, June 22, through Monday, June 26.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

MONDAY, JUNE 26

Welfare Check, 8:44 p.m.

Officer spoke to an adult female who had been in a dumpster on the 800 block of 15th St. NW. The female was advised not to jump in any more dumpsters.

Welfare Check, 7:27 p.m.

Welfare check on two people sitting in a yard for an extended period of time on Gould Ave. SE. The individuals live at that residence and were resting in the shade. No actions taken.

DWI, 7:07 p.m.

Traffic stop on 10th St. and America Ave. NW. One arrested.

Assist, 4:23 p.m.

Assist task force on the 800 block of Park Ave. NW. One arrested.

Harassment, 12:34 p.m.

Officers spoke to a subject complaining of local media filming her house and children on Minnesota Ct. NW. Officers did not observe any media in the area upon drive by.

Warrant, 8:53 a.m.

An individual turned themselves in on a warrant. The individual was provided transport to a neighboring county.

SUNDAY, JUNE 25

DWI, 8:49 p.m.

Traffic stop on 13th St. and Irvine Ave. NW. One arrested for DWI.

Suspicious, 7:51 p.m.

Officer and deputy responded to the area of 2nd St. and Stoner Ave. SE and did not observe any further “gun shots” or individuals in need of assistance.

Theft, 7:51 p.m.

Shoplifting on the 2100 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Female arrested on outstanding warrants. New charges pending.

Traffic Stop, 6:00 p.m.

Traffic stop on 19th St. and Irvine Ave. NW. One arrested.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 5:15 p.m.

Call handled by state patrol on 23rd St. and Middle School Dr. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 4:36 p.m.

Report of fireworks on Gould Ave. SE. Unable to locate source of fireworks.

Suspicious, 12:03 p.m.

Report of male and female trying to sell tools out of their backpacks on the 500 block of 20th St. NW. They were not located.

Family Matter-Non Criminal, 12:03 p.m.

Child eloped to neighbor’s house. Officer returned child to home where it appeared he was able to defeat child safety locks.

Traffic Stop, 2:05 a.m.

Traffic stop on Washington Ave. and Rako St. SW. Female placed under arrest for DWI. Male passenger placed under arrest for fifth-degree controlled substances.

Disorderly Conduct, 1:34 a.m.

Officers received a report of a possible gun shot near a local apartment complex on the 2800 block of Pine Ridge Ave. NW. Witnesses informed officers that it was fireworks. Officers foot patrolled the area and found nothing unusual.

Assault, 12:38 a.m.

Male placed under arrest for domestic assault on Minnesota Ave. NW.

Traffic Stop, 12:20 a.m.

Traffic stop on 5th St. and Bemidji Ave. N. One arrested.

SATURDAY, JUNE 24

Traffic Stop, 7:10 p.m.

Traffic stop on 24th St. and Irvine Ave. NW. One arrested.

Assist, 6:56 p.m.

Officers spoke with a homeowner who was concerned that his residence was pictured during a recent investigation on the 1800 block of America Ct. NW. Subject requested extra patrols in area due to unwanted attention and extra traffic.

Traffic Stop, 5:05 p.m.

Two juveniles were advised about operating mopeds on public roadways on Irvine Ave. and 25th St. NW.

DWI, 5:02 p.m.

Male driver placed under arrest for DWI on the 200 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 12:04 p.m.

Report of a woman threatening others for cigarettes on the 600 block of America Ave. NW. She was located and agreed to behave.

Disturbing the Peace, 8:32 a.m.

An officer responded to a noise complaint on the 1900 block of Delton Ave. NW. Small children were asked to quiet down.

Dead Body, 3:36 a.m.

Officers responded to a fight in progress on the 1800 block of Minnesota Ct. NW. Male located deceased. Three arrested.

Suspicious, 1:55 a.m.

Report of suspicious person sitting in a car on Birchmont Dr. NE. One arrested for DWI.

FRIDAY, JUNE 23

Burglary, 9:41 p.m.

Female arrested for burglary on the 500 block of 21st St. NW. Search warrant also executed at residence for narcotics.

Assist, 6:47 p.m.

Reporting party on Roman Dr. NW, who claims she doesn’t do meth, is concerned that her neighbor told officers that she is using meth.

Disorderly Conduct, 5:47 p.m.

Initial complaint of drug use in the laundry room on the 2800 block of Pine Ridge Ave. NW. Officers did not locate drug users and spoke with neighborhood kids about safety with airsoft guns.

911, 4:59 p.m.

Child custody exchange issues resolved by calling 911.

Property, 7:37 a.m.

Report of a possible gun located at a local business on the 400 block of Bemidji Ave. N. Officer located a toy gun.

THURSDAY, JUNE 22

Family Crimes, 11:02 p.m.

Mother and father placed under arrest for child endangerment on the 800 block of 26th St. NW.

Assist, 5:24 p.m.

Assist with violent patient on the 1300 block of Anne St. NW. Officer spoke with patient who eventually was able to be sedated by medical staff.

Welfare Check, 4:29 p.m.

Child eloped from residence on Minnesota Ave. and was located by citizen. Officers returned child home and confirmed the residence was safe and secure.

Disorderly Conduct, 2:06 p.m.

Mother called police on her son who was refusing to clean his room and care for his kitten on 26th St. NW. Officer met with mother and son and the two agreed to get along.

Theft, 1:30 p.m.

Shoplifter on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Female arrested on outstanding warrant. Charges to be filed upon receipt of store reports.

Suspicious, 1:25 p.m.

Abandoned property determined to be geological testing supplies and not drug paraphernalia on the 100 block of Lake Shore Dr. NE.

Fraud, 8:55 a.m.

Female arrested for fraudulent use of a credit card on the 1300 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Suspicious, 8:52 a.m.

Officer spoke to a concerned mother about her son’s new roommates on the 1000 block of Dewey Ave. NE. Nothing criminal in nature has occurred.

Medical, 6:23 a.m.

One arrested on the 1000 block of Bemidji Ave. N.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

MONDAY, JUNE 26

Traffic Stop, 10:36 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 100 block of Lomen Ave NE in Solway resulted in a DWI arrest.

Theft, 9:29 p.m.

Property stolen from vehicle parked at boat access on the 8900 block of Farley Dr. NE.

Warrant, 7:09 p.m.

Adult female arrested on warrant on Highway 2.

Suspicious, 3:44 p.m.

Deputy located vehicle with incorrect plates on the 5600 block of Alps Ct. NW. Subject arrested on DOC warrant.

Assist, 1:58 p.m.

Deputy spoke with a citizen reporting they were going to organize a search party for a previously reported missing person on the 1100 block of Porcupine Rd. SE in Cass Lake. Information only.

Suspicious, 12:07 p.m.

Deputy spoke with a party reporting a burned up camper in a wooded area near Sumac Rd. and Pincherry Rd. NE in Turtle River. The camper fire was previously reported.

SUNDAY, JUNE 25

Assist, 10:21 p.m.

A male was arrested for being found in possession of a firearm and fifth-degree controlled substance on the 10200 block of Highway 89 NW.

Agency Assist, 5:15 p.m.

Male party was arrested for DUI and reckless driving on 23rd St. and Middle School Dr. NW.

SATURDAY, JUNE 24

Medical, 7:21 p.m.

Possible overdose in Bemidji.

Fire, 12:47 p.m.

Unattended fire complaint near Big Turtle Dr. NE. Landowner was burning slashing pile, in the rain, with a permit. Unfounded.

FRIDAY, JUNE 23

911, 9:20 p.m.

Deputies responded to the 24100 block of Lookout Tower Rd. NE in Blackduck for a 911 open line. Two males arrested for warrants.

Assist, 3:03 p.m.

One arrested on the 4800 block of Stacy Ann Dr. NW.

Fire, 2:39 p.m.

Deputies responded to a structure fire on the 12500 block of Paper Birch Dr. NE in Tenstrike.

Boat, 10:10 a.m.

Theft of a boat and trailer on the 700 block of Swinburne Ct. NW in Tenstrike.

THURSDAY, JUNE 22

911, 10:56 p.m.

911 misdial, kids had phone on Country Club Rd. NE.

911, 7:38 p.m.

911 hang-up in Hines. Was a male cutting the lawn.

Property Damage, 12:33 p.m.

Report of a disorderly male damaging property on Roosevelt Rd. SE. Subject removed per victim request.
