Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 7/13-7/16

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, July 13, through Sunday, July 16.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, JULY 16

DWI, 11:48 p.m.

Traffic stop on 15th St. and Minnesota Ave. NW. Male arrested for DWI.

Animal, 8:16 p.m.

Report of a dangerous cat on the 2200 block of Conifer Ave. NW. Unable to locate the cat.

Disorderly Conduct, 8:04 p.m.

Report of a disorderly female screaming on Pine Ridge Ave. NW. Officer located the female and stated she was upset about money.

Violations/Court Orders, 6:26 p.m.

Report of an HRO violation on the 1000 block of Anne St. NW. One male arrested.

Medical, 3:44 p.m.

Officers assisted EMS with a subject who fell off their bicycle hitting their head on 26th St. and Calihan Ave. NE. Subject transported to ER by EMS.

Suspicious, 11:32 a.m.

Assist and advise on the 700 block of 22nd St. NW. Old empty cigarette cartons were dumped in her yard. RP does not live far from Smoke Shop, unknown if items blew into yard or were thrown.

Disorderly Conduct, 12:46 a.m.

Caller reported multiple people banging on her door and windows on the 1800 block of Conifer Ave. NW. Unable to locate suspects.

Assist, 12:44 a.m.

Caller requested assistance in asking her drunk boyfriend to stop pounding at her door and ask him to leave. Male had left the 900 block of 30th St. NW prior to officer’s arrival.

SATURDAY, JULY 15

Property Damage, 11:19 p.m.

Report of two males fighting/damage to property on the 800 block of 26th St. NW.

Weapons Offenses, 11:10 p.m.

Officers responded to the report of a male brandishing a firearm on the 1000 block of Mississippi Ave. NW.

Assault, 9:28 p.m.

Male assaulted on Bixby Ave. NE.

Warrant, 7:46 p.m.

One arrested for warrant on the 400 block of Irvine Ave. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 7:35 p.m.

Caller reported three juveniles ringing her doorbell and running away on Miles Ave. SE.

Assist, 7:19 p.m.

Officer assisted disabled senior citizen with some household chores on 1st St. E.

Assault, 12:56 p.m.

Officers took a report of an assault that occurred the prior evening at a local bar on Beltrami Ave. NW.

Suspicious, 3:43 a.m.

Report of people trying to break into a residence on Minnesota Ave. NW. No evidence of a break-in was discovered, caller was hallucinating and seeing people who were not present.

Warrant, 12:34 a.m.

Officer made a warrant arrest on 3rd St. and Bemidji Ave. N. Male posted bail.

FRIDAY, JULY 14

Suspicious, 6:36 p.m.

Caller reported adult female offered vodka to young kids on 19th St. NW and left on foot. Officers unable to locate suspect.

Welfare Check, 3:15 p.m.

Caller reported a young child was on the road on 20th St. and Delton Ave. NW looking for her mother. Officers located the child and re-united her with her mother.

THURSDAY, JULY 13

Weapons Offenses, 8:44 p.m.

Unable to locate on the 100 block of 1st St. W.

Assault, 3:53 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress on the 1000 block of America Ave. NW. Upon arrival a female was arrested for a felony out-of-county warrant.

Harassment, 12:14 p.m.

RP reported that someone placed a bag of used cat litter under her deck on the 900 block of Bemidji Ave. N. She believes it is the downstairs neighbor.

DWI, 2:41 a.m.

Traffic stop on Mississippi Ave. NW, driver arrested for DWI, passenger arrested on warrant.

Weapons Offenses, 12:21 a.m.

Report of a gun being pointed out of a vehicle on the 700 block of Irvine Ave. NW. Officers made contact with the victim whos stated he saw a stick.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SUNDAY, JULY 16

Property Damage, 9:18 p.m.

Property damage complaint on Old Long Lake Rd. NW. Complaint involved a vehicle that had driven through a corn field.

Disorderly Conduct, 5:40 p.m.

Removal request on the 10400 block of Pond Rd. N. Male arrested on outstanding warrant.

DWI, 4:04 p.m.

Adult arrested for DWI on Pete Ln. NW in Wilton. Test results pending.

Medical, 11:32 a.m.

Deputies responded to the report of a possible overdose in Bemidji. Subject was gone on arrival, having left with a female party before EMS or LE arrival.

Sex Crimes, 6:56 a.m.

Deputy took a report pertaining to a possible assault in Bemidji.

SATURDAY, JULY 15

Disturbing the Peace, 8:22 p.m.

Noise complaint of loud children on Alps Ct. NW. Spoke with local youths.

Theft, 1:51 p.m.

Theft of a woman’s purse from inside of a church on Eckles Rd. NW.

DWI, 1:21 a.m.

Adult driver and passenger arrested for multiple charges on Little Norway Ave. SE.

Warrant, 12:52 a.m.

Leech Lake Tribal arrested male with outstanding warrants on Upper Cass Frontage Rd. in Cass Lake. Deputy transported male to Beltrami County Jail.

FRIDAY, JULY 14

Suspicious, 9:14 p.m.

Report of one loud boom heard on Birchmont Beach Rd. and Hales Rd. NE. Deputy responded to the area, no further booms heard, no signs of distress.

Assist, 8:00 p.m.

Female issued citation for driving after revocation, one male arrested for driving with a canceled IPS license on Highway 71 NE.

Suspicious, 6:27 p.m.

Adult driver arrested for DL status violation and DWI on Grange Rd. NW.

Warrant, 2:54 p.m.

One arrested on Scribner Rd. and Highway 2 NW.

THURSDAY, JULY 13

Alarm, 6:58 p.m.

Smoke alarm on Ranchero Dr. NE. Deputy responded to a residence. Daughter at residence burnt rice. No further assistance needed.

Assist, 5:48 p.m.

One arrested on Sunnyside Rd. and Roosevelt Rd. SE.

Theft, 4:25 p.m.

Deputy took a report of a theft regarding beaver traps on Carter Lake Rd. SE in Hines.

Assault, 2:45 p.m.

Complaint of physical domestic situation resulting in one adult female taken into custody for probable cause of fifth-degree domestic assault on Stone Lake Rd. NW.
