Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 7/8-7/11

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, July 8, to Sunday, July 11.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, JULY 11

Disturbing the Peace, 6:44 p.m.

Loud music complaint at Gordon Falls Park on the 1100 block of Mississippi Ave. NW. Officer drove by the park and kids were playing basketball, but the music was not too loud. Unfounded.

Theft, 5:03 p.m.

Officer responded to a report of theft on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. One male arrested on outstanding warrants.

Welfare Check, 2:31 p.m.

Welfare check on the 900 block of Washington Ave. S. Male sleeping on the boulevard. He was arrested on warrants. No new charges.

Disorderly Conduct, 11:57 a.m.

Report of fireworks on 15th St. and Bixby Ave. NE. Officer unable to locate.

Disorderly Conduct, 8:34 a.m.

No action by officer on the 100 block of 12th St. NW. Caller did not wish to speak with an officer and said she would call back when the fireworks were going off.

DWI, 1:48 a.m.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on Irvine Ave. and Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. One male arrested for DUI.

Accident, 1:44 a.m.

Report of a hit-and-run on the 300 block of Beltrami Ave. NW.

SATURDAY, JULY 10

Disorderly Conduct, 11:50 p.m.

Officer responded to a report of individuals throwing eggs at vehicles on the 300 block of 15th St. NW. Unknown suspects.

Disorderly Conduct, 10:52 p.m.

Officer responded to objects being thrown from a vehicle on Beltrami Ave. and 2nd St. NW. Officer did not locate the vehicle.

Warrant, 10:14 p.m.

Male was placed under arrest for a warrant and transported to the jail, after being transported to the hospital on the 1300 block of Anne St. NW from a neighboring jurisdiction.

Fire, 4:43 p.m.

Stump found smoldering on the 800 block of America Ave. NW. Extinguished by reporting party. Officer checked area and did not locate additional fires or the person responsible.

Suspicious, 10:27 a.m.

One arrested on the 1300 block of Beltrami Ave. NW.

911, 6:26 a.m.

Officers responded to an open 911 call on the 200 block of Mississippi Ave. SW. Owner of the phone located and taken into custody for a Beltrami County warrant.

DWI, 2:23 a.m.

Traffic stop on Beltrami Ave. and 15th St. NW. Driver arrested for DWI.

Disorderly Conduct, 2:09 a.m.

Officer located individuals setting off fireworks on the 1000 block of Park Ave. NW. One male issued a citation.

FRIDAY, JULY 9

Harassment, 10:58 a.m.

Subject being followed on the 400 block of Bemidji Ave. N. Suspect left before officer arrived, no criminal activity observed.

Disorderly Conduct, 2:29 a.m.

Officers responded to a removal request on the 2900 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW. Subject arrested on an outstanding warrant.

THURSDAY, JULY 8

Assault, 11:21 p.m.

Officer took a report of a domestic assault on 15th St. NW. One male arrested.

Suspicious, 11:19 p.m.

Officer responded to a fireworks complaint on the 300 block of Gould Ave. NE. Verbal warning was given to the homeowner.

Disorderly Conduct, 10:19 p.m.

Officer responded to a fireworks complaint on the 2600 block of Delton Ave. NW. Verbal warning was given.

Warrant, 8:30 p.m.

Officer arrested a male on local warrants on Paul Bunyan Dr. and Hannah Ave. NW.

Property Damage, 12:58 p.m.

Damage to, and possible theft of, a vehicle on the 1400 block of 6th St. SE.

Theft, 11:30 a.m.

Catalytic converter theft on the 1600 block of Bixby Ave. NE.

DWI, 1:42 a.m.

Officers responded to a one vehicle crash on the 4100 block of Bemidji Ave. N. Driver arrested for DWI.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SUNDAY, JULY 11

Pursuit, 10:17 p.m.

Vehicle pursuit on Island View Dr. and Bemidji Rd. NE. Vehicle evaded law enforcement.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints 4:46 p.m.

Female arrested for DWI on Lakewood Dr. and Irvine Ave. NW.

Boat, 1:30 p.m.

Personal watercraft struck a dock while subjects were boarding on the 24700 block of Creek Ct. NE in Hines. Minor child sustained injuries.

Harassment, 1:24 p.m.

Deputy took a report of terroristic threats on Van Buren Ave. SE.

Fire, 12:57 p.m.

Structure fire on the 1500 block of Van Buren Ave. SE.

Random, 9:19 a.m.

Random DUI court check resulting in an arrest on the 7400 block of Fairgrounds Rd. NW.

Animal, 7:12 a.m.

Report of horses loose on the roadway on Highway 89 and Aure Rd. NW. Owner was located and rescued the animals.

Animal, 7:03 a.m.

Report of cows loose near the roadway on the 12500 block of Aure Rd. NW in Pinewood. Owner was located, animals were collected and rescued.

Medical, 3:55 a.m.

Patient revived with use of Narcan and transported to a Bemidji hospital.

Suspicious, 3:52 a.m.

Report of whistling and suspicious noises on Pinetail Ln. and Lavinia Rd. NE. Checked area. Unable to locate.

SATURDAY, JULY 10

Burglary, 11:20 p.m.

Damage to vehicle and buildings entered on the 4400 block of Scribner Rd. NW.

Assault, 4:13 p.m.

Deputies responded to two males fighting in the roadway on the 2100 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE. One male cited for disorderly conduct.

Weapons Offenses, 3:02 p.m.

Reported on the 1900 block of Washington Ave. S.

Accident, 2:37 p.m.

A two-vehicle personal injury crash on Irvine Ave. and Great Divide Rd. NW.

Burglary, 11:16 a.m.

Burglary reported on the 7500 block of Bemidji Rd. NE.

Animal, 9:47 a.m.

Deputies responded to three wandering goats on the 10900 block of Lumberjack Rd. NW in Puposky.

Agency Assist, 7:45 a.m.

A one-vehicle personal injury crash on the 200 block of Frontage Rd. in Blackduck.

Suspicious, 12:42 a.m.

Caller reporting strange noises at rental cabin on the 13100 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE. Deputy checked cabin and believed the noise was the water pump turning on. No further action taken.

FRIDAY, JULY 9

Warrant, 11:53 a.m.

Adult arrested for warrants on the 100 block of 6th St. NW in Cass Lake.

Suspicious, 12:41 a.m.

Vehicle crashed at a corner on Wander Ln. and Roosevelt Rd. SE. Driver arrested for fifth-degree controlled substances, careless driving, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

THURSDAY, JULY 8

Boat, 11:39 p.m.

Report of an intoxicated boater on Lake Bemidji. One male arrested for boating while intoxicated.

Warrant, 11:01 p.m.

Warrant arrest on the 3800 block of Animal Land Dr. SE.

DWI, 9:40 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 18500 block of Mission Rd. SE in Cass Lake. One male arrested for DWI and DAR. Two females arrested for warrants.
