Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 7/9-7/12

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, July 9, to Sunday, July 12.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, JULY 12

Property Damage, 8:03 p.m.

Officer took a damage to property report on the 700 block of 26th St. NW. Window was broken by a rock. Unknown suspects.

Fire, 6:28 p.m.

Officer spoke with a landowner on the 100 block of Gould Ave. NE about needing a burn permit to burn a large pike within city limits. Landowner stated she would put it out.

Theft, 5:09 p.m.

Civil matter regarding missing vehicle, which was located, burned, in ass County.

Suspicious, 3:39 p.m.

Intoxicated male entered the wrong residence on the 700 block of Grant Ave. SE and left prior to law enforcement arrival.

Warrant, 12:01 p.m.

Female arrested on a warrant on the 2800 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW.

SATURDAY, JULY 11

Assist, 9:51 p.m.

Officer advised female caller to contact her Private Investigator regarding a neighbor dispute on the 2900 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW.

DWI, 8:39 p.m.

Individual arrested for DWI, child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance on the 2900 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW.

DWI, 2:07 p.m.

Male individual was placed under arrest for multiple violations on the 1200 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Welfare Check, 1:57 p.m.

Check on female napping on the beach on the 1700 block of Birchmont Dr. NE, she was alright.

Drugs, 12:56 p.m.

Officer checked a hotel room on report of drugs being used around young children. No signs of drug use in the room were noted and the subject did not appear under the influence. The children appeared healthy and in good spirits.

Theft, 11:25 a.m.

Bike theft reported on 2nd St. and Scott Ave. SE.

Trespass, 10:45 a.m.

Shoplifting and warrant arrest on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

FRIDAY, JULY 10

Suspicious, 9:21 p.m.

Suspicious people pushing a Go Kart on Jefferson Ave. and Harrison Ct. SW. Verbal warning given for unregistered off road vehicle.

Suspicious, 10:10 a.m.

Report of camper parked on roadway that had been there a couple of weeks on Larson Dr. NE. Case referred to community service officer.

911, 3:08 a.m.

Report of intoxicated parent taking care of kids, individual fled from the residence prior to Officers arrival, children placed on a 72 hour hold.

THURSDAY, JULY 9

Assault, 10:52 p.m.

Officer responded to remove a male party on the 600 block of 6th St. SE. Male party left on a bike prior to arrival. One arrested.

Accident, 10:00 p.m.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a bicycle on Paul Bunyan Dr. and Roosevelt Rd. SE. The victim was eastbound on Roosevelt on a bicycle when he entered the intersection when he was struck by a southbound vehicle on Co. Rd. 50.

Traffic Stop, 8:14 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 2400 block of Bemidji Ave. N. Individual arrested for a warrant.

Burglary, 2:23 p.m.

Burglary of a storage building reported on the 2100 block of 23rd St. NW.

Burglary, 12:59 p.m.

Trespassing at a residence on the 200 block of 10th St. NW.

Suspicious, 10:21 a.m.

Report of suspicious male in vehicle speaking with young children on Grant Ave. and 3rd St. SE. No suspect or vehicle were located.

Trespass, 10:05 a.m.

Complainant found unknown male in garage and startled her on the 300 block of 12th St. NE. Nothing was missing or damaged. Suspect was located and identified. He said he went in the garage to get out of rain and fell asleep. He was told not to return.

Theft, 9:59 a.m.

Theft from residence on the 600 block of 18th St. NW.

SUNDAY, JULY 12

Missing Person, 10:43 p.m.

Overdue boater reported. Boater located on the 25400 block of President Dr. NW in Puposky in good health.

Suspicious, 8:34 p.m.

Suspicious renter at a resort on the 28800 block of Heavenly Dr. NW.

DWI, 5:03 p.m.

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault. One arrested for DWI on the 2400 block of Vincent St. NW.

Theft, 3:57 p.m.

Deputy received a complaint of two stolen lawn mowers on the 3000 block of 15th St. NW.

Fire, 3:54 p.m.

Fire reported on the 900 block of Rodeo Dr. NW.

Property Damage, 5:46 a.m.

Mailboxes damaged, suspect identified on the 5300 block of Highway 89 NW.

Traffic Stop, 2:12 a.m.

Traffic stop on the 1000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. Driver arrested for DWI.

SATURDAY, JULY 11

Theft, 9:15 p.m.

Theft reported on the 5000 block of Theater Ln. NW.

Suspicious, 10:34 a.m.

Deputy located a suspicious person on the 9900 block of Heartland Cir. NW. Person agreed to stay away from the school.

Fire, 8:44 a.m.

Deputies responded to a complaint of a neighbor burning garbage on the 1200 block of Little Norway Ave. SE. Subject extinguished fire upon request. Written warning issued for violation.

FRIDAY, JULY 10

Medical, 1:22 p.m.

Deputy responded to a possible overdose.

Weapons Offenses, 11:03 a.m.

Written warning for negligent discharge of a firearm on the 9400 block of Linnwood Ct. NW.

Suspicious, 2:25 a.m.

Two females in middle of a roadway on Kappes Ln.SE in Cass Lake. Two were arrested.

THURSDAY, JULY 9

Traffic Stop, 2:39 p.m.

Traffic stop on Division St. and Adams Ave. NW. Driver advised she was in a rush to bring her daughter to a doctor’s appointment. Verbal warning.
