Bemidji woman convicted of neglect and assault sentenced to probation

A Bemidji woman who pleaded guilty to criminal neglect and domestic assault will spend five years on probation.

According to the criminal complaint, 47-year-old Karen Marie Gannetta was the parent and personal care worker for the adult victim, described as a vulnerable adult.

Gannetta reportedly kept her away from family members, and investigators found her severely malnourished and with significant bruises.

Gannetta’s stayed prison sentence will be served after she stays in the Beltrami County Jail for 180 days, but has already received credit for 112 days at the jail.
