City begins hydrant flushing next week

The City of Bemidji will begin flushing hydrants next week.

According to a release, the hydrants will be flushed in a north-to-south pattern starting Thursday and ending in the Nymore area at the end of May.

If water becomes discolored due to iron during this period, run cold water until it is clear again.

Water pressure may also be lower than normal at this time.

The water main flushes will begin at 7 a.m. each day and end around 5:30 p.m. until the process is complete.
