The Bemidji City Council will meet for a work session Monday to discuss a possible expansion of the Freedom Defenders Veterans Memorial.
City Manager Nate Mathews writes in a memo that the Memorial Board is requesting some reserved land in the rail corridor.
The site requested is immediately west-northwest of the current memorial. Mathews says that the potential expansion could possibly be a collaborative effort with the Park and Recreation Board for a City Veteran’s Park.
Park staff currently maintains the Freedom Defenders Veterans Memorial.
