Class II gaming soon introduced at Big Winnie Bar in Bena

Off-site gaming will soon be offered at the Big Winnie Bar in Bena.

According to a release, Leech Lake Gaming plans to expand Class II slot machines in several locations.

“It’s great to see this new project finally begin. It’s been in the planning stages for a while. The Big Winnie Bar will be the first of several locations that the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe will be featuring Class II slot machines in,” said Leech Lake Gaming CEO Michael Michaud

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the Big Winnie Bar at 11 am, on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

Class II slots mimic actual slot machines, determining the outcome of the game by drawing bingo numbers then translating them into slot reel combinations.

“This cooperative effort will be a win-win for both the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe and the several potential locations that we will be working with,” said Leech Lake Tribal Chairman Faron Jackson, Sr.
