Clearbrook woman killed in motorcycle crash with deer

A Clearbrook woman died from her injuries after a motorcycle crash near the Clearwater-Beltrami county line Saturday afternoon.

According to a release from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Michael Paulson of Clearbrook was driving the motorcycle that struck the deer around 2:30 p.m. on July 1.

Paulson was transported to the Bagley Sanford Medical Center where he was treated and released, but his passenger, 57-year-old Larae Martine passed away from her injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Sanford Bagley Ambulance, Bemidji Ambulance, Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Clearbrook-Gonvick Police Department, North Memorial Air Med and the Clearbrook Fire Department assisted at the scene.
