COVID-19 updates for Tuesday, Jan. 18

As of late last week, Beltrami County was monitoring 413 active cases of COVID-19, with four local residents hospitalized for COVID.

The weekly update from Beltrami Public Health says that over a 14-day period, 558 new COVID cases were reported.

Today’s report from the Minnesota Department of Health includes information from Friday, due to the holiday weekend.

MDH reported more than 10,000 new cases and 29 new deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 11,000.

One of today’s reported deaths was a Cass County resident in their late 60s.

MDH reported 28 new COVID cases in Beltrami County, 31 new cases in Cass County, eight new cases in Clearwater County and 32 new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 9,405 cases and 112 deaths; Cass County has had 5,654 cases and 67 deaths; Clearwater County has had 1,760 cases and 27 deaths; and Hubbard County has had 4,025 cases and 52 deaths.
