COVID updates for Thursday, Oct. 7

Beltrami County Public Health Director says there are 407 active COVID cases in the county.

Heuer also says there are 17 COVID patients hospitalized, with only six of them being Beltrami County residents.

Of the 2,674 new COVID-19 cases reported in the state Thursday, 45 were in Beltrami County, 24 were in Cass County, nine were in Clearwater County, and 20 were in Hubbard County.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 32 new COVID deaths Thursday.

Of those deaths, two were Beltrami County residents in their early 90s and one was a Hubbard County resident in their late 80s.

Of the 3,886 new COVID-19 cases reported across the state Wednesday, 42 were in Beltrami County, 37 were in Cass County, 11 were in Clearwater County, and 28 were in Hubbard County.

Of the 40 COVID deaths reported Wednesday, one was in Beltrami County, a resident in their early 60s, and another was in Hubbard County, a resident in their early 80s.

The majority of the deaths, 29, were in private residences, and the dates of deaths were mostly in September and October of this year. One death reported Wednesday happened in Dec. 2020, and another was in July 2021.
