COVID updates for Thursday, Sept. 16

Beltrami County Public Health Director Megan Heuer reported today that as of Wednesday, there were 217 active COVID-19 cases within the county.

Eleven people were hospitalized with COVID-19 locally, with eight of those patients being Beltrami County residents.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,736 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and 41 new deaths.

Wednesday’s report included previously unverified COVID cases and deaths in long-term care facilities. This data review project started early this year.

Of the cases reported Wednesday, 56 were in Beltrami County, 30 were in Cass County, 13 were in Clearwater County, and 17 were in Hubbard County.

Of the deaths reported Wednesday, one was a Beltrami County resident in their early 60s, one was a Beltrami County resident in their late 50s.

Some of the deaths reported Wednesday occurred as early as June 2020.

MDH reported another 2,484 new COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths Thursday.

Of those cases, 44 were in Beltrami County, 13 were in Cass County, six were in Clearwater County and 35 were in Hubbard County.
