Bead art exhibit extended through July 2020

July 31, 2020

“Wezhichigewaad” (Makers) – an exhibit by Master Bead Artist Thomas Stillday, will be extended through July 2020 in the Miikanan Gallery. “While we (Watermark Art Center) have had the exhibit online during the COVID -19 closure, seeing it in the gallery is special.  So in an effort to allow people to see the work in person, sometime in the near future, we have extended the exhibit ” explains Miikanan Gallery Program Director, Karen Goulet.

R.J. Kern’s exhibit “The Unchosen Ones” is available online and will be visible through the windows of the art center through Saturday, May 30, before heading to the Thompson Reutter Gallery located in Terminal 1 in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport.  Debuting as a feature in National Geographic in 2017, Kerns exhibit takes place on the sidelines of county fair animal contests around Minnesota in 2016. The exhibit honors the animals and their handlers in large scale photographs, capturing their determination with dignity.

Upcoming exhibits for June include the “Members Show” featuring work by Watermark Art Center member artists and collectors and “Invisible Valley” by photographer and printmaker, John Pearson.
