The 34th season of the Summer Recital Series presented by the Bemidji Area Church Musicians will continue on Wednesday, July 7, 12:00 noon. This recital will feature Bemidji Brass Quintet at First Baptist Church, 1555 Paul Bunyan Drive, NW.
The Bemidji Brass Quintet has been performing together for four years. They will perform brass quintet pieces by composers John Cheetham and Kevin McKee, and arrangements of a few traditional Christian hymns. Also on this program will be an arrangement of tunes by Billy Strayhorn, an American jazz composer, pianist, lyricist, and arranger, who collaborated with bandleader and composer Duke Ellington for nearly three decades. Everyone will recognize these classy tunes!
Members of the quintet include Kyle Riess, Craig Swartz (trumpets,) Eve Sumsky (horn,) Ryan Webber (trombone,) and Brennan Paulsen (tuba.)
The public is invited to attend this recital in person and to remain for the luncheon to follow. A free-will offering will be received at the door. The luncheon will have a price announced.
