The 33rd season of the Summer Recital Series presented by the Bemidji Area Church Musicians will continue on Wednesday, August 12, 12:00 noon as a “virtual recital.” This recital will feature Jennifer Ellis at Calvary Lutheran Church, Bemidji. In this time of shut-down and caution for large gatherings, the 2020 series is being videoed and presented on Facebook and You Tube each Wednesday noon. In addition, Lakeland Public Television has been broadcasting our summer recital series, throughout the season.
The recitals are aired on KAWE TV on Saturdays at 4:30 (right before Lawrence Welk) and again on Sundays at 10 am. We are grateful for their help to expand our audience during this time of social distance and restrictions
Jennifer Ellis grew up in Bemidji and was a recipient several years ago of the scholarship provided by BACM. Ellis and her husband live in Fargo where she is a stay-at-home mom.
This recital will include a piano and organ duet, solo piano including an energetic Bach Prelude and Fugue, as well as Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C# Minor, and selections on folk harp including up-beat Celtic music, and a slower, more contemplative piece on the harp.
