The 33rd season of the Summer Recital Series presented by the Bemidji Area Church Musicians will continue on Wednesday, August 19, 12:00 noon as a “virtual recital.” This recital will feature Glenn Seibel, United Methodist Church, Bemidji.
In this time of shut-down and caution for large gatherings, the 2020 series is being video recorded and presented on Face Book and You Tube each Wednesday noon. In addition, Lakeland Public Television has been broadcasting our summer recital series, throughout the season. The recitals are aired on KAWE TV on Saturdays at 4:30 (right before Lawrence Welk) and again on Sundays at 10 am. We are grateful for their help to expand our audience during this time of social distance and restrictions
Glenn Seibel, euphonium, has been a long time performer in the BACM recital series as well as in other music groups in Bemidji. His concert will feature a variety of selections showing many moods of music for the euphonium. One piece is Old Kentucky Home, which he played many years ago in high school and he will perform it on the instrument he used for that performance so many years ago. This recital will also showcase two new pianos at the church. One is a Yamaha grand acoustic piano enhanced with electronic sounds which play using the piano sound board to produce the sound. The other is a Yamaha electric piano with many special effects. Leisa Bragg is pianist for this recital.

People in the community are invited to donate to the programs managed by BACM. Both locations will have a way to contribute on line to BACM. Donations can also be made by sending a check to BACM, 701 31st St NW, Bemidji, MN. Many people have contributed throughout the summer. Thank you for supporting the programs of scholarships for freshman college students in music study, Fellowships for BSU students to serve in Bemidji churches, and scholarships for young organ students.
