Bemidji Jaycees 79th Annual Water Carnival

The Bemidji Jaycees 79th Annual Water Carnival kicks off the evening of Thursday, June 29, with Merriam’s Midway Carnival opening at the Sanford Center Parking Lot that evening. The Midway will be open midday through the 4th of July.

Bingo at the Sanford Center site will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 29. Bingo will continue at the Sanford Center lot from noon to 10 p.m. from Friday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 4.

The Medallion Hunt starts Monday, June 26, with clues released each day until it is found on Lakeland News, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, RP Broadcasting, and on the Bemidji Jaycees website and Facebook page.

Purchase your Medallion Hunt Buttons at the Bemidji Woolen Mills, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting/Hubbard Broadcasting, Visit Bemidji and myBemidji June 12 through June 26, with Water Carnival Buttons then available at the same locations through July 4.

Kid Events on Saturday, July 1, begin with a Kiddie Parade on Lake Boulevard NE followed by a demonstration from Headwaters Science Center in the Entertainment Tent and a bike giveaway. Kiddie Parade registration starts at 10 a.m. at Bangsberg Hall Parking Lot, with the parade to follow at 10:30 a.m. Headwaters Science Center will be in the tent from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where the Jaycees will also give away a number of new bikes.

The Color Run is also on Saturday, July 1, with the Bemidji Junior Jaycees organizing the event. The fun run starts at 9:30 a.m. at Paul Bunyan Park. Register online at bemidjijaycees.com, there will be no on-site registration.

Entertainment Tent events kick off Saturday, July 1 with Purse Bingo! Purchase your $30 ticket, available for pre-sale June 12 at myBemidji. Ten designer purses are available for prizes, doors open at 2 p.m. with bingo to start at 3 p.m.

Sunday Funday on July 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Entertainment Tent will feature games and Dynamic Sound Productions. Corey Medina and Brothers are slated to perform Monday, July 3 at 8 p.m.

The Annual Grand Parade is Sunday, July 2, starting at 1 p.m. The route is 15th Street to 5th Street on Beltrami Avenue NW, then returning to the staging area via Minnesota Avenue NW.

Following the Parade, the Bald Eagle Water Ski Show will perform near the Waterfront at 3 p.m. Attendees are welcome to view this free show from Library Park.

The Annual Fireworks Show will begin on the 4th of July at dusk from Nymore Landing. The landing will be closed to the public on the 4th to ensure the safety of the professional fireworks crew.
