On April 25th, 2020, Jan Michael Looking Wolf, one of the America’s most gifted Native American Flute performers, will offer a virtual flute workshop, for all levels of musicians, and later that day (7:00 PM), he will stage a 2 – hour virtual performance – Songs of Hope – where he teaches about Native American cultures and the importance of the Flute and its music in providing the ‘medicine’ we need to sooth and heal.
These events are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund. All activities are free and open to the public.

Priority for registration will be for people in the following counties of Northern Minnesota: Clearwater, Mahnomen, Beltrami, Hubbard and Lake of the Woods. Jan Michael Looking Wolf, is an enrolled Kalapuya member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde in Oregon.
During his wildly successful career over several decades, he has produced 23 full length albums and garnered 70 awards and a top 10 ranking in the global radio charts. He has collaborated with other well-known artists, introducing the Native American Flute into genres such as pop, blues, rock, and hip-hop/rap. He has composed arrangements for video productions and feature film.
In 2019, Jan Michael was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from One World Music Radio. One of the most honored Native American recording artists in history, he has also received 6 Global Music Awards, an Indigenous Music Award, 2 Indian Summer Music Awards, 6 Native American Music Awards with 32 nominations there, the OFP Peace Star Award, and 2 One World Music Radio Awards for Best Native American Recording.
Jan Michael’s lifestyle and musical expressions are based on the tradition of ‘ONE HEART’.
