Fatal shooting under investigation in Pine Point Village

Authorities are on the lookout for a car believed to be involved in a fatal shooting in Becker County Sunday evening.

Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander says a gray Pontiac G6 with a White Earth Plate bearing the number 22-0-79 was reportedly leaving the scene in the village of Pine Point.

Deputies were first called to Pine Point on the report a person had been shot, and a man was found dead at the scene. The man’s identity will be released pending an autopsy.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Becker County Sheriff’s Office at 218-847-2661.

The case remains under investigation and law enforcement does not believe there is any additional threat to public safety.

The White Earth Police Department, Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Paul Bunyan Task Force, the FBI and BCA are assisting with the investigation.
