Grand Rapids man injured in head-on crash with semi

A Grand Rapids man was injured in a head-on crash with a semi truck Friday.

The state patrol says the semi tractor-trailer, driven by 36-year-old David Fleck of Bemidji, was westbound on Highway 2 in Itasca County when a Chevy Blazer crossed the centerline from the eastbound lane.

The Chevy driver, 72-year-old Dennis Bowman, was sent to Grand Rapids Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The extent of his injuries were not documented.

Fleck was not injuries. The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, and roads were wet at the time.
