Home destroyed in early Monday fire

A Puposky home was destroyed by a fire early this morning.

Twenty firefighters from the Bemidji Fire Department responded just after 5 a.m. to the 23000 block of Knutsen Rd. NW.

The two-story residential structure was fully engulfed in flames, and one occupant suffered minor injuries while escaping.

The fire is believed to be accidental in nature.

Firefighters were on scene for about three hours and used eight pieces of equipment.

The home is considered a total loss.

The fire is under investigation, and BFD was assisted by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Alaska Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance Service, and the Beltrami Electric Cooperative.
