Home destroyed in Turtle Lake Township fire

Thirty-eight firefighters responded to Turtle Lake Township Monday afternoon for a house fire.

According to a release, the two-story structure was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival, with firefighters unable to enter the home due to high heat and heavy smoke.

Fifteen pieces of equipment were used to attack the fire from the exterior.

No injuries were reported, but the structure and its contents are considered a total loss.

The fire is under investigation but so far appears to be an accident.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Ambulance Service, Beltrami Electric, Solway Fire Department, Blackduck Fire Department, Minnesota DNR and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted at the scene.
