House fire claims the lives of two, injures boy near Wadena

A house fire claimed the lives of two adults and left a boy injured early Sunday morning. The fire began at a house in Wadena Township just before 4:00 a.m.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office says the boy was found outside the home with minor burns when firefighters arrived. The adults were also found inside.

Life-saving efforts were performed but were unsuccessful, and the two were pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of the victims have not yet been released, and an autopsy is underway at the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.

The scene is still under investigation.
