The following is a summary of incidents the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 24.

thursday, nov. 21

Animal Complaint, 1:50 p.m.

Report of an injured swan on the side of the roadway.

K-9, 2:08 p.m.

K9 Assist on Pleasant Street in Nevis.

friday, nov. 22

Accident, 12:55 a.m.

Vehicle in ditch. Driver seems to be trying to get out, according to caller.

Suspicious, 10:39 p.m.

Suspicious female driver and at least one male in a silver Jeep Liberty have pulled into caller’s driveway in Menahga at least twice and were told to leave. When the caller asked what they were doing they said they “were peeing.” They also stopped at a few other places along the way. Last seen going west on 109, towards Hubbard County.

saturday, nov. 23

K-9, 12:45 a.m.

Leech Lake Department of Public Service and two county units out assisting the state patrol.

Suspicious, 6:27 a.m.

Unknown male party was knocking on caller’s window and is now knocking on caller’s door. Report from Wejack Road.

Theft, 8:05 a.m.

Caller is stating that her giant inflatable unicorn was stolen last night at 11:55 p.m. in Nevis.

Sunday, nov. 24

Vehicle-Stolen, 4:57 a.m.

Party reporting his truck was stolen, and that it was last seen an hour and a half ago.

Animal Complaint, 8:36 a.m.

Caller saw an injured timberwolf cross the roadway that appeared to have been shot. Caller is concerned it may be more dangerous since it was wounded.

Animal Complaint, 10:30 a.m.

Caller is out with a dead bear that appears to have been recently shot in Laporte. Caller believes the bear was poached, and would like a possession tag.

Accident, 10:37 a.m.

Vehicle went through a fence on Wolf Lake Road and has been abandoned at the accident scene.

Gun Call, 12:36 p.m.

Complaints about the neighbor’s shooting and blowing things up on Edgewood Loop.

Suspicious, 1:04 p.m.

Caller states that on Nov. 6, late in the evening, an unknown party attempted to break into her residence in Cass Lake.

Gun Call, 1:18 p.m.

Complaint of neighbors shooting guns for the past several hours. Caller believes they may be discharging firearms in an unsafe manner.
