Klobuchar will lead hearings on U.S. Capitol insurrection

Minnesota’s senior senator Amy Klobuchar announced that she and three other Senators would hold hearings on the security failures after the insurrection of the United States Capitol last week.

“An attack on the Capitol Building is an attack on every American,” the Senators said in a joint statement, and plan to work across the aisle to “ensure this never happens again.”

Senator Roy Blunt and Klobuchar both lead the Senate Committees on Rules and Administration, and Senators Gary Peters and Rob Portman lead the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced flags will be flown at half-staff Wednesday in honor of the Capitol Police Officers who have fallen, Brian D. Sicknick and Howard Liebengood.
