Lueken’s recognized for Minnesota Grown award

Lueken’s Village Foods was named one of six “Retailers of the Year” for their commitment to feature locally grown and produced foods in the state.

According to a release from the Minnesota Grocers Association, Lueken’s was selected as the Retailer of the Year for the Northwest region. Lueken’s was recognized for their commitment to locally grown and produced products with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture’s Minnesota Grown program.

“We thank these grocers and their employers for their leadership in highlighting locally grown foods for their customers,” said Thom Peterson, MDA Commissioner.

“Minnesota-grown products are essential in providing fresh and nutritious food to communities across the state.”

In addition to the number of local farms and products represented in store, judges also looked at how the grocer used ads, displays, social media and other events to promote locally grown items.
