Man dies in fatal Federal Dam crash

FEDERAL DAM– One man was killed and a four-year-old girl seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday on Cass County Road 8.

According to a release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, a 62-year-old Squaw Lake man was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer, and towing a passenger car on a car dolly when he failed to stop at the stop sigh and collided with a southbound Oldsmobile SUV on County Road 8.

The Oldsmobile driver, a 58-year-old Federal Dam man, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The four-year-old girl was treated on scene and transported via North Memorial Air Care to a Twin Cities hospital with serious injuries. The Trailblazer driver was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a Deer River Hospital.

Names are being withheld pending notification of family members.
