Man impersonating officer attempts traffic stop near Lake Park

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man in the area may be impersonating a police officer.

According to a release, a woman reported she was driving north of Lake Park when a vehicle in front of her activated white and blue lights, and she pulled over.

A male approached the driver’s side and asked her to step out of the vehicle. When the woman asked for police credentials, the man left the scene.

He is described as being 25 to 30 years old, about 6 feet tall with a goatee beard, and the vehicle was described as a newer white Jeep.

If you feel you are being stopped by someone who is not a law enforcement officer, call 9-1-1 immediately and report the incident.
