MDH reports nine more flu related deaths

The Minnesota Department of Health reports nine more flu-related deaths for the week ending Feb. 22.

Sixty-seven deaths were reported this flu season so far, with two of those patients being children.

To date, over 2,800 were hospitalized for flu-related complications this flu season, and hospitalizations last week alone totaled 363.

Flu remains widespread in Minnesota, and according to statistics for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hospitalization rates remain similar to this time during recent seasons, but rates among children and young adults are higher at this time than in recent seasons.
