In Minnesota House 2A, a district that encompasses portions of Beltrami, Hubbard and Lake of the Woods Counties, Republican incumbent Matt Grossell faces a challenge from DFL-endorsed candidate Jeremiah Liend.

Matt Grossell, of Clearbrook, has served in the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2017, and was an area law enforcement officer before he was discharged due to an injury in the line of duty. Grossell also served in the U.S. Army.

Jeremiah Liend, of Turtle River, was born and raised in Bemidji, and has lived in the area for the majority of his life. This is his first campaign on a major party ticket, but has run prior campaigns for Mayor of Bemidji and Governor of Minnesota.
